Aims: To develop understanding of benefits available to people who are 'incapable of work', including how work and study affect entitlement.
To develop understanding of the key medical test for deciding whether someone is incapable of work.

By the end of both sessions you will be able to:

  • Identify incapacity-based benefits and their entitlement conditions.
  • Describe how work and study affect entitlement.
  • Describe the main features of and list the key steps in the Personal Capability Assessment.

Level of expertise: Intermediate.

This course is intended for advisers, who have a basic knowledge of incapacity-based benefits.
