How do I book a private advice session?
- Follow this link to a list of available, private advice sessions.
- Select the advice session you want to attend.
- Complete the booking form. You do not need to use your real names but please make sure you remember the names you use. You will not be able to attend your session if you use different names.
- Either print off and keep a copy of the confirmation screen or make a note of your password. You will not be able to attend your session without the password.
How do I attend a private advice session?
- When your advice session is due to start go back into the AdviceKit Manchester website and follow the link to ‘Online Adviser’.
- Follow the link that says ‘Take me straight to an advice session’.
- You now need to login. Do this by using your first name plus the first three letters of your surname only. You must use the same names you used when you booked the session. You also need to enter a password. This must be the password that was issued when you booked the session you now wish to attend. After you have entered these details, select ‘login’.
- Now select the ‘my schedule’ tab and your private advice session should appear. Select it.
- Another box will appear asking you whether you want to allow or deny the use of a camera and microphone. If you haven’t got a camera or a headset, you can select ‘deny’. If you have a headset and want to speak to the adviser then select ‘allow’. If you have a camera but don't want the adviser to see you, but still want to use a headset, then you must select 'allow' - you can turn the camera away from you. If you do not have a headset but your computer has speakers, your adviser may still be able to speak to you if you select 'allow'.
- You should now be able to attend the session. If you are using a headset you will be able to talk to your adviser. If you wish to communicate by text, just type into the text box at the bottom of the text window and then press return or ‘send’.
- If you get a message saying that the event has not yet started, don’t do anything. The session (or ‘event’) has to be started by the adviser. You will be allowed into the session as soon as this has been done.
- When the session has finished, select ‘exit event’.
