Emails and Online Adviser Service

We can only deal with emails and online advice queries from residents of the City of Manchester. Please supply your postcode when you send your query or book an advice session. Currently, we offer an email service that provides advice that relates to the law on debt, housing, consumer and welfare rights related issues in England in the United Kingdom. We may be able to answer queries about other social welfare law issues but cannot guarantee this. Follow this link for information about the areas of law covered by the Online Adviser Service.

Please supply as much detail about your situation and the nature of your enquiry as possible. In particular, we may need to know about any key dates or deadlines that might affect your situation. This will allow our Online Advisers to try and give useful advice in return.

We aim to reply to email enquiries within 5 working days but we cannot guarantee this. We cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience arising as a consequence of us not responding to an email enquiry for advice. If your situation is urgent we advise that you contact an adviser.

Any email received by us that we decide contravenes our equal opportunities policy will be sent a standard response to that effect and no further reply will be given.

If you are using the Online Adviser Service we ask that you read and agree to the terms of use (external website).

By making an enquiry by email you agree to us replying to the email address that you have given us. You may also have given us your email address with permission to contact you for feedback if you book an online advice session. Please be aware that our email software allows us to view the return email address that you have given us. You need to be aware that our email reply may not be completely confidential if you share an email address at home or at work or if your own email account is not secure. Also, the AdviceKit Manchester email address may be automatically recorded in your email address book.

We keep your enquiry and / or details of your advice session on our system for a minimum of two years (up to a maximum of six years if your enquiry is deemed to be a complex case) under the Data Protection Act Guidelines. You have the right to request a copy of your file by writing to us at:
