Where to get help in Manchester

Domestic violence is any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between people who are or have been family members, regardless of gender. Therefore it can be from partners, ex partners, or other family members.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, there are different options available to you:

  • You may have rights to remain in your home
  • You may have rights to protection and additional security in your home
  • You may be able to get help to make the violent person leave
  • You can get assistance in finding emergency accommodation

If you are a woman who is experiencing domestic violence and you live in Manchester, contact the Women's Domestic Violence Helpline for advice, support and refuge.
