Immigration Aid Unit

Free information and advice around immigration and asylum issues including domestic violence. Contact for advice via the drop-in advice surgeries on Monday and Wednesdays between 10 and 1pm. Generally the first 15 people are seen. Service is often over-subscribed so arrive early.
Available to everyone, regardless of sexuality or gender, living in the Greater Manchester area.
Lesbian and Gay Foundation Counselling Service

Face to face counselling service provided on a sliding scale dependent on ability to pay. Staffed by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender counsellors with experience in dealing with domestic violence.
Available to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who live in Manchester.
Manchester Housing Domestic Violence Outreach Team

Floating support, advice and advocacy aimed at preventing homelessness. The service includes:
Crisis Intervention - support when people have presented as homeless or are threatened with homelessness. Where people wish to remain in their own home, they are supported with getting emergency protection in place (such as injunctions and Anti-Social Behaviour Orders) and with improving security measures at their property.
Legal Advocacy Project - advice and support in seeking legal protection, providing accessible information on possible legal remedies and proceedings, helping to access and liaise with other agencies such as the police and solicitors, arranging pre-court visits and accompanying people to police stations, solicitors and court.
Rehousing Support Service - resettlement support for people who have moved home due to domestic violence, including access to healthcare, schools, grants, money management and referral to other agencies.
Children's Workers - support for children who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence.
Services available to anyone, regardless of sexuality or gender who lives or works in Manchester.

St Mary's Sexual Assault Referral Centre

Support service for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted - including telephone support and information line, one to one counselling, support in giving a statement to the police, through criminal proceedings and in the weeks following the assault.
Available to all residents of Greater Manchester who have been sexually assaulted or raped, regardless of sexuality or gender.
