Magistrates' Court fines

If you have fallen behind with payments on a Magistrates Court fine, this should be treated as a priority debt. If you do not pay the fine, the court can issue a warrant for your arrest and, ultimately, you could be imprisoned for non-payment.

If your situation has changed and you cannot afford to pay the instalments ordered, contact the fines office at the court and ask them to reduce the payments. You may need to go to a hearing for the court to do this.

Details of the Magistrates Court in Manchester are:

Manchester City Magistrates Court
Crown Square
Manchester
M60 1PR

Telephone: 830 4200
Fax: 830 4225

If you cannot come to an agreement with the court or if a warrant has been issued, you should get advice.
