Guardian's Allowance is a benefit you can claim if you are looking after someone else's children because:
- both their parents have died, OR
- one of their parents has died and the other is either missing or in prison
How to claim
To claim Guardian's Allowance you need to fill in form BG1. You can get this from the Guardian's Allowance Unit on: 0845 302 1464 (textphone 0845 302 1474), from your local Jobcentre Plus office,
