Community Care Grant

What is it for?

To help people live independently in the community.

Do I need to be on benefits?

  • You may be able to get a Community Care grant if you get Income Support or income based Jobseeker's Allowance or Pension Credit or Income Related Employment Support Allowance or are likely to get one of these benefits when moving out of institutional care or a home or other places.
  • Your award will be reduced if you have savings/capital over £500 (or over £1000 if you are over 60).
