Budgeting Loan

What is it for?

To pay for things it has been difficult to budget for because you have been living on benefits.

Do I need to be on benefits?

You may be able to get a Budgeting Loan if you or your partner have been getting Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), Income-based Employment Support Allowance (ESA) or Pension Credit for at least 26 weeks.

Do I have to pay it back?

Yes, but the loan is interest free. Minimum loan is £100, maximum £1500.  repayments are deducted automatically from your benefits, the maximum period you can repay the loan is over 104 weeks.
