Training on a range of advice issues is co-ordinated by Manchester Advice on behalf of the Manchester Advice and Information Network (MAIN). MAIN is an umbrella organisation providing support to advice agencies in Manchester. MAIN includes agencies from the statutory and voluntary sector such as law centres, independent advice agencies, the city council and other voluntary advice agencies. Use this link for details of other providers of training.

Solicitors Regulation Authority (formerly the Law Society) Accredited Courses

Who should come on our courses?

Even if you are not a member of Manchester Advice and Information Network (MAIN) but are an advice worker, volunteer, solicitor or other related professional working in the United Kingdom, you may find our courses useful.

Note: Our training is intended for paid / unpaid staff working for agencies. Individuals who do not apply for training through an agency will receive low priority as we expect trainees to be putting knowledge into practice within the context of their work.

Scope of our courses

All of our courses take place in Manchester. For advisers outside the North of England, or who want training different to the courses we offer, there may be alternative training providers nearer to you, or providing more suitable training.

Most of our courses are based on the interpretation and practice of UK legislation.
