Disability benefits are available for people who are disabled, or terminally ill. These are:
These benefits give you extra weekly cash if you need help or assistance to look after yourself. Examples of the type of help and assistance you may need include using the toilet or commode, getting in or out of bed, getting up or down the stairs, dressing or undressing, washing or bathing, eating, taking medication, or reading labels or instructions due to poor sight.
You can also claim if you need someone close by to avoid any risk of falls, accidents or danger, or for support needs arising from mental health problems. Examples of the sort of help you may need include help because you are unsteady on your feet, prone to dizzy spells, forgetful, or you can't see or hear well.
